E-waste includes materials such as:
- Televisions
- Computers
- Towers
- Keyboards, mouse, joysticks
- VCRs, DVD players, gaming consoles, HiFi equipment
- Faxes, printers and multi-functions
- Laptops, tablets
- Micro-stereos
E-waste is a growing problem in Australia. Computers contain a variety of different components and many of which are toxic and can cause environmental damage if sent to landfill. They also contain valuable resources such as gold. By dropping them off at a local transfer station you can ensure these resources are being recovered and not causing environmental damage.
The following materials are NOT accepted under the E-waste program and will be charged the minimum mixed waste charge:
- Broken televisions/screens
- Products contaminated with hazardous materials or foreign objects
- Power tools
- Appliances/microwaves
- Universal power supplies
