Normal collection times commence from 6:00 am. Bins are serviced on all public holidays including Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Year's Day, Good Friday and Easter Monday. General waste bins are serviced weekly and recycling bins are serviced fortnightly in designated waste collection areas. More information about your next weekly waste or fortnightly recycling collection can be found by touching the ‘Calendar’ button on the bottom left of the screen. Find out what can and cannot be put into each bin by touching the red (waste) and yellow (recycling) icons underneath the calendar. Council reserves the right to change collection schedules based on operational needs.
If your bin has been damaged or stolen, please make a request here [https://mpathway.livingstone.qld.gov.au/ePathway/Production/Web/CustomerService/ExternalRequestBroker.aspx?Module=ECRREQT&Class=&Type=LSCGEN]. Council is gradually replacing green waste bin lids with red lids, according to the Australian Standard for waste bins. If your general waste bin lid needs replacing or you require a replacement bin, the lid will be red.
Please follow these simple instructions: * Bins should be placed out prior to 6:00 am on your service day. * Bins should be a minimum of 1 metre apart. * Please do not place bins under trees, low power lines or overhead obstructions. If bins are obstructed by a parked car they may not be serviced. * Additional material beside or on top of your bin will not be collected. * Bin lids must be closed completely – overfilling bins may result in spillages. * Bins that are too heavy will not be serviced. * Jamming material into the bin results in blockages and the bin will only be partially emptied. * Don't obstruct a pedestrian pathway. Persons using mobility scooters need the sealed footpath clear for safe transit. After your bin collection, bins must be removed from the kerb as soon as practicable after collection. Bins left out can be a safety hazard. If you have a concern about bins causing a safety hazard, use the ‘Make a Request’ link under the ‘More Info’ section at the bottom of the App home screen.
If your bin has not been collected by 6.00pm on your collection day, please report a missed bin using the ‘Make a Request’ link under the ‘More Info’ section at the bottom of the App home screen or contact Council on 1300 790 919 [tel:1300790919] the following morning. Your missed bin should remain in the normal collection area, as they will generally be serviced within 2 working days upon reporting to Council.
Council provides an assisted service for occupiers who, through a medical condition or disability, are unable to place their wheelie bin at the collection location*. This service is only available if there is no able bodied person residing at the premises. This service includes retrieval and return of wheelie bins from within your property boundary, not exceeding a distance of 50 metres from the collection location*. If an occupier requires an assisted service they are required to lodge: * a completed Assisted Service Request - Waste and Recycling Collection application form; and * a current medical certificate/letter from a medical professional stating that the occupier is unable to place their wheelie bin at the collection location* for emptying. An updated medical certificate/letter must be provided every two years for occupiers requiring an ongoing service. If approved, the assisted service will commence within 10 working days of approval. * Collection location - means a place at, or adjacent to, premises at which a standard general waste container associated with the premises can be easily accessed by a general waste collection vehicle without causing obstruction. To request an in-home collection service, select the ‘Make a Request’ link under the ‘More Info’ section at the bottom of the App home screen and provide details about the reason for your request. Alternatively contact Council on 1300 790 919 [tel:1300790919].
