At Easter remember to collect clean Easter egg alfoil wrappers and roll them into a ball of at least 5cm in diameter (or about the size of a tennis ball) before popping it in your yellow lidded recycling bin. This way we can make sure the alfoil is correctly sorted at our Material Recovery Facility (MRF) to process our recycling, small pieces of alfoil will not be caught in the conveyor belt.
The cardboard and hard plastic Easter egg packaging can be placed in your recycling bin as well. Remember to:
- Flatten the cardboard boxes to create space in your bin,
- Try to remove sticky labels or tape where possible,
- Avoid boxes covered in glitter or textiles, these are to be placed in your general waste green or red lidded bin, and
- Take soft plastics (such as hot cross bun bags) to a Red Cycle bin for recycling. These can be found near the service desk at Coles and Woolworths stores.
